THE MONTH BEFORE TAX SEASON
‘Twas the month before Tax Season, when all through the firm,
The veterans were helping the newbies to learn,
Preparing each ledger with precision and care,
In knowing that Tax Season soon would be there;
The managers scrambled to schedule it all,
Realizing the workload – And dropping their jaws;
When out in the hallway I heard such a clatter,
I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter.
I pushed passed the papers and straight to the door,
To see John rising up off the floor.
“Now, Stephanie! Now, Becky! Now, Rhonda and Jackie!
On, Robin! On Leslie! On, Dan, Jill and Patti!
He passed out the workload so big and so tall,
As he said with a smile..”I want refunds for all”!!
A box of returns he flung on his back,
And he looked like a PRO as he took control back.
A wink of John’s eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled each request; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, back to Oxford he goes;
“We’ll all pull together”, is just what he said
“TAX SEASON -- NO PROBLEM-- IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD”
