Keeneland Race Track      After lunch, it was time to “go to the races.” Keeneland is a very beautiful track. Our seating area was under cover and we had center stage. The weather was quite cool and there were some sprinkles of rain, but overall the weather cooperated throughout the day.

Each family was given an envelope containing admission tickets, a program voucher, and vouchers for food and drinks. The group was divided into four teams and each team was given money to be used for betting on the races. Some teams chose to bet individually, while the others bet as a team. The teams quickly united to determine the potential winners for each race and sent a representative to place bets at the betting windows. There were lots of excited cheers as the selected horses neared the finish line, as well as expressions of displeasure when horses failed to place amongst the winners of each race. By the time the final race was run, the fatigued, chilly group was ready for the bus ride home.

The return trip was spent chatting about the days’ events and sharing amusing stories. Halfway home, a stop was made to pick up pizza for dinner. The bus arrived at the Kirsch CPA group office about  9:30 PM. Everyone appeared to enjoy this exhausting, yet exhilarating day!!        Thanks to the after-tax season planning committee—Leslie Barden, Rhonda Cassidy and Patti Frodge-- for a very well organized event!   A “big thanks” to John Kirsch for taking such good care of us!
